# Developers and other MCP clients

> Connect Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, or your own agent to the Co-Invest MCP server.

Co-Invest is a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Any MCP-compatible client can connect and get the same research, portfolio, and trading tools.

* **Server URL:** `https://coinvest.liquid.trade/mcp`
* **Transport:** Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1 (authorization code + PKCE). You sign in in your browser on `app.liquid.trade`; there are no API keys to paste.
* **Scopes:** `read` (market data, portfolio, account state) and `trade` (placing and managing orders, each one confirmed by you).

## Connect

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Cursor">
    Add this to `.cursor/mcp.json`, or add the address in Cursor's MCP settings:

    ```json theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "co-invest": {
          "url": "https://coinvest.liquid.trade/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    ```

    Cursor asks you to sign in to Liquid the first time you use it.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Codex, Gemini CLI, Windsurf">
    Point the client at `https://coinvest.liquid.trade/mcp` as a remote HTTP MCP server. Each client keeps its config in a different place; the URL is the only value you need.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Stdio-only clients">
    Bridge with `mcp-remote`:

    ```json theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "liquid-co-invest": {
          "command": "npx",
          "args": ["mcp-remote", "https://coinvest.liquid.trade/mcp"]
        }
      }
    }
    ```
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Build your own agent

Use any MCP client library for TypeScript or Python to connect to the server URL. After OAuth, list the tools to see the current catalog: market analysis and search, news, technical indicators, portfolio, open orders, order execution, TP/SL, position management, prediction market orders, deposits, leaderboard, and referrals. Trading tools return a confirmation step.

For agents that place orders on their own within limits you set, use [Co-Invest Computer](/co-invest/co-invest-computer).

## Try it

* "Examine my portfolio."
* "Compare NVDA, TSLA, and AAPL on funding and positioning."
* "Which of my positions is closest to liquidation?"
* "Switch to paper mode."
